Rachel Krasowski Selected BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

Junior libero averaged 5.38 digs per set to pick up league's top defensive honor

CHICAGO – DePaul libero Rachel Krasowski was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Krasowski averaged 5.38 digs per set in wins over Providence and UConn over the weekend. The junior's weekly tally ranked second in the BIG EAST last week after putting up the top two dig totals in four-set matches last week.

The Orland Park, Ill., native logged 28 digs against the Friars on Friday before registering 15 against the Huskies on Saturday. With her 14th dig in the victory against Providence, Krasowski surpassed 1,000 career digs. The Blue Demon defense held opponents to .152 hitting percentage last weekend.

For the season, Krasowski is averaging 5.13 digs per set to rank second in the BIG EAST.

DePaul begins its four-match road swing on Friday, Oct. 7 with a match against Seton Hall before making the short trip to St. John's on Oct. 8.
