Four Blue Demons Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Anderson, Gonda, Herbek and Huth advance to national ballot
CHICAGO - Four members of the 2022 DePaul men's soccer squad have been named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team.
Michael Anderson, Marek Gonda, Grant Herbek and Jacob Huth each earned the nod for the Blue Demons. They are the first All-District nominees for DePaul men's soccer since Ron Branstetter in 1989.
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-District ballot, a student-athlete must start or play in 50% of matches and earn a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
Anderson, a senior midfielder, played in all 17 matches and started 16. He notched two goals on the season and totaled 1336 minutes on the pitch this season. He is majoring in Cybersecurity.
Marek Gonda appeared in all 17 games this season. He tallied four points on one goal and two assists, logging 924 minutes of play. The junior forward is studying management.
Grant Herbek started and played in all 17 matches, finishing the season with 1528 minutes played. The senior defender led the backfield all season long. The Libertyville, Ill. native is majoring in Film and Television.
Midfielder Jacob Huth started all 17 games throughout the season, earning one goal to tie then-No. 22 Notre Dame. The Marietta, Ga. native finished the season with 1154 minutes played on the pitch. Huth is in his junior year studying in finance.
With their naming to the All-District team, all four members of the Blue Demons will advance to the national ballot for All-America honors.
