Jill Pressly Named AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention

Junior outside hitter becomes first Blue Demon to earn AVCA honors since 2001
LEXINGTON, Ky. – DePaul outside hitter Jill Pressly was named an AVCA All-East Region Honorable Mention selection, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday morning.

Pressly, a unanimous All-BIG EAST honoree in 2022, is just the fourth Blue Demon in program history to be recognized by the AVCA and the first since 2001.

The junior earned all-league honors for the third consecutive season after finishing second in the BIG EAST in kills (4.03 kps) and points (4.45 pps).

A six-rotation contributor, Pressly finished the season with 17 double-doubles while averaging 3.04 digs per set to finish second on the team.

In BIG EAST play, the Plano, Texas native recorded 4.29 kills per set to improve upon a 3.21 average in conference matches in 2021. Â Pressly totaled six matches with 20+ kills including a 27-kill career-high outing in a five-set win over Xavier (11.19) on the final day of the regular season.

Pressly's 476 kills in 2022 are the most by a Blue Demon in a single season since Stephanie Bishop totaled 606 in the 1999 campaign.
