Yalovenko Leads DePaul in First Round at Loyola Intercollegiate

Second round set for Monday in Goodyear, Ariz.
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Artemiy Yalovenko is tied for 25th place after the first round of the Loyola Intercollegiate as the Blue Demons are tied for 11th place as a team. Monday featured the opening round of the three-day, three-round event hosted by Loyola (Md.) at Palm Valley Golf Club.
Yalovenko turned in a one-under score of 71 over his first circuit of the North and South Courses at Palm Valley on Sunday. He was followed by Noah Kolar who carded a 72 (E) and is in a group in 34th place.
Alex Vekich and Aarjav Patel each posted rounds of 75 (+3) while Conor Glennon recorded an 82 (+10). Grant Boyson tallied a 73 (+1) and David Griggs shot a 75 (+3) in their first rounds while competing as individuals.
Three players are tied for first with six-under rounds of 66 on Sunday while Utah Valley leads the 18-team field with a team score of 275 (-13). DePaul is tied for 11th place with a first round team score of 293 (+5).
Tuesday's second round is scheduled for a 7:45 a.m. MT start and live scoring is available at GolfStat.com.
