Golf Closes Yestingsmeier Match Play with Win Over Xavier

Kolar, Yalovenko, Boyson and Patel all record victories against the Musketeers

DADE CITY, Fla. – DePaul defeated Xavier by a score of 4-2-0 to conclude the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play on Tuesday. Noah Kolar, Artemiy Yalovenko, Grant Boyson and Aarjav Patel all claimed individual victories to lead the Blue Demons.

Kolar, Yalovenko and Patel all finished the event with wins in two matches. Kolar recorded a 1UP victory while Yalovenko notched a 3&2 victory. Boyson posted a 1UP decision while Patel made quick work of his opponent in a 5&4 decision. Alex Vekich dropped his match at 2&1 and Conor Glennon was defeated by a score of 5&4.

The Blue Demons opened the day with the conclusion of the Loyola Chicago match that saw the Ramblers take a 3-2-1 decision. DePaul finished the match play tournament with a 1-2 record.

Up next for the Blue Demons is the Loyola (Md.) Intercollegiate in Goodyear, Ariz. The three-day, three-round event is Feb. 20-22 at Palm Valley Golf Club.
