Freeman-Liberty Picks Up Sixth BIG EAST Weekly Recognition

Chicago native finishes season with three Player of the Week awards and three Honor Roll selections
CHICAGO – For the sixth time this season, Javon Freeman-Liberty picked up weekly honors from the BIG EAST as he was selected to the final Honor Roll of the season. The Chicago native was named Player of the Week three times this season and selected for the Honor Roll on three occasions.
Freeman-Liberty averaged 24.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in games against Marquette and Connecticut. Had totaled 26 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals in the win over Marquette on Wednesday night. At Connecticut on Saturday, Freeman-Liberty led the Blue Demons with 22 points, three rebounds and three assists.
He was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Nov. 15, Nov. 22 and Feb. 28 and earned Honor Roll recognition on Nov. 29, Dec. 20 and March 6.
Marquette's Justin Lewis was the BIG EAST Player of the Week while Creighton's Arthur Kaluma was the Freshman of the Week. Freeman-Liberty was joined on the honor roll by consisted of Connecticut's Adama Sanogo, Ryan Kalkbrenner from Creighton, Seton Hall's Jared Rhoden and Caleb Daniels from Villanova.
DePaul faces St. John's in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament on Wednesday night. The Blue Demons and Red Strom split the regular-season series and meet at 7 p.m. ET on FS1 and WIND (560 AM).
