Blue Demons win five of six singles matches at XS Tennis on the South Side
CHICAGO – It was a strong comeback for coach Matt Brothers and his men's tennis team Sunday at XS Tennis Village.
After Marquette claimed the doubles point for an early 1-0, the Blue Demons (8-11) came storming back with three consecutive singles wins sparking a 5-2 BIG EAST victory over their longtime rival.
The rally began with Matteo Iaquinto taking care of Will Tennison 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5 singles.
Tripp Tuff gave the home team its first lead which would never be relinquished after a 6-2, 6-2 win over Pablo Dale at No. 6 singles.
Luuk Wassenaar brought the "Band of Brothers" to the brink of victory with a 7-5, 6-1 decision over Ian Brady at No. 4.
