Taylor Underwood Selected BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

Underwood averages 3.33 kills per set in 3-0 weekend for the Blue Demons
CHICAGO – DePaul freshman right side Taylor Underwood was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon after turning in three stellar performances in a 3-0 weekend for the Blue Demons.
Underwood totaled double-digit kills in all three matches to average 3.33 per set at a .326 clip. In Friday's home opener against Virginia Tech, the Norco, Calif. native went for a career-high 16 kills while attacking at a .353 mark. In a 3-1 win against Eastern Michigan, Underwood totaled 14 kills at an efficient .387 clip before notching 10 kills and four blocks in the weekend finale against Saint Louis.
The Blue Demons will make the short trip over to UIC Sept. 16-17 for the Chicago Cup. DePaul will face Northwestern on Friday at 4 p.m. before squaring off against Loyola Chicago and UIC on Saturday at 10am and 7pm, respectively.
