Blue Demons Slotted Second After Day One at Valpo Invitational

Cameron Karney tied for third after going -two under through two rounds
CHESTERTON, Ind. – Through 36 holes at the 2022 Valpo Invitational the DePaul golf team sits in second place on the leaderboard after firing a combined 585 (+9) on the first day of the 2022-23 season.
Eight of the seventeen teams in the field finished two round s of play before the round was suspended due to darkness.
Graduate transfer Cameron Karney leads the pack of Blue Demons tied for third after firing a pair of 71's to go two-under on the day.
Connor Glennon is tied for eighth after putting together a 73 (+1) in round one followed up by a one-under (72) performance in round two to finish out Monday even.
Alex Vekich is tied for 18th after a 36-hole total of 148 through consecutive circuits at Sand Creek Golf Club.
The first day saw Artemiy Yalovenko shoot a 152 (+8) to land in a grouping tied for 39th while freshman Billy Gneiser is 16-over (160) and tied for 85th in his DePaul debut.
Aarjav Patel fired a 75 (+3) in round one before withdrawing prior to the second round. Â
Unfinished teams will resume second round action at 7 a.m. CT on Tuesday before the third and final round gets underway.
