Conor Glennon, Blue Demons Finish Third at Valpo Fall Invite

Glennon fires a 66 in Tuesday's final round to finish third
CHESTERTON, Ind. – DePaul senior Conor Glennon fired a six-under in Tuesday's final round at the Valpo Fall Invitational to finish the season-opening tournament third while the DePaul golf team went 10-over on the day to finish third amongst the 17-team field.
After finishing Monday's first two rounds tied for eighth, Glennon carded a 66 (-6) in the final 18 to finish third and put together a career-best 210 across 54 holes.
Alex Vekich went one-over in the third round to finish the invitational tied for 17th with a score of 221 (+5). Cameron Karney followed closely behind tied for 19th after going eight-over on Tuesday. Karney was two-under and sitting in third through Monday's first two rounds.
Senior Artemiy Yalovenko finished play at the Sand Creek Golf Club in a group tied for 57th going 15-over (231) while freshman Billy Gneiser landed in a group tied for 87th (241).
Valparaiso took home the team title with an impressive -16 under through three rounds, while Loyola Chicago finished a stroke in front of the Blue Demons at 882.
DePaul returns to action in about a week with a trip to West Des Moines, Iowa for the Zach Johnson Invitational Sept. 26-27 hosted by Drake.
