DePaul Dominates Princeton 5-2

MADISON, Wis. – DePaul men's tennis (2-2) claims its second win of the season over the Princeton Tigers (0-1) Saturday morning. After losing the doubles point, the Blue Demons came back to claim their individual matches, earning the 5-2 victory.

"Huge five to two win over a Princeton team that finished number 40 in the country last year at the end of the season," said head coach Matt Brothers. "Really proud of how these guys bounced back after a difficult and frustrating loss yesterday. We dropped the doubles point and the guys just locked in singles and fought hard on every court. Lots of growth for this talented team coming out of this win today."

DePaul men's tennis took to the courts at 10 a.m. to begin their doubles play. No. 2 doubles pair Leon Huck and Jona Gitschel fell to their opponents 6-3. Shourya Verma and Pablo Torres Almeida teamed up to play at the No. 3 spot, but the duo also lost their match 6-1.

Down by one, the Blue Demons surged back into action against their singles opponents. Matteo Iaquinto defeated Ellis Short, 6-3, 6-3, to tie the score. Huck followed suit, winning his match against Thomas Bosancic 6-4, 6-4 to put the Blue Demons in the lead.

Aleksa Krivokapic claimed victory over his opponent after winning his second set 6-3, 7-5 and Almeida defeated Princeton's Matthew Bosancic in a hard fought three set battle, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, to secure the win for the Blue Demons.

Sven Moser also battled his opponent to three sets, but fell 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. Marino Jakic claimed the last victory of the day for DePaul, defeating his opponent in a three set tiebreaker 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (9-7).
