DePaul announces first sell out at Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – The DePaul men's basketball team makes its return to Wintrust Arena against No. 16 Marquette, sponsored by Starry, in front of a sold-out crowd. The sell-out for Saturday, Jan. 28 was announced Wednesday evening as DePaul expects a capacity crowd for the top-25 matchup. Limited amount of student tickets remain and can be claimed at DePaulBlueDemons.com/Students, while supplies last.
"This is such a big moment for our basketball program, university, and city today," said head coach Tony Stubblefield. "Wintrust Arena has the ability to be one of the best home courts in the country. The BIG EAST is a tough league, night in and night out, and our fans at home can make such an impact. We are so energized heading into Saturday's game and will be ready to fight."
Saturday serves as the culmination of a week-long celebration of Blue Demon Week. The 2023 Blue Demon Week celebrates the 125th anniversary of DePaul University. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. CT tip off and will be broadcast on FS1 and WSCR 670 The Score.
"I asked out fans to pack Wintrust Arena this Saturday to help create a tough, home court advantage for our men's basketball program and they responded," said Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "I'm incredibly thankful for the support of our Blue Demon fans and look forward to enjoying an electric atmosphere with them on Saturday."
Saturday's game is the first recorded sell out for DePaul men's basketball at Wintrust Arena. The previous attendance record came in the Arena's official opener with 10,194 in attendance for DePaul vs. Notre Dame on Nov. 11, 2017.
DePaul Athletics urges fans to use caution against purchasing counterfeit and invalid tickets. That risk is magnified for solid-out games like Saturday's matchup. Ticket holders should also be aware of potential risks from posting pictures of their tickets, specifically the QR barcode, on the internet in any way. For more information about ticket security, please contact the DePaul Athletics Ticket Office at (773) 325-7526.
