Final Results

The Blue Demons complete their third and final meet of the regular season

PEORIA, Ill. – The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams completed the Bradley Pink Classic on Friday afternoon. The men's team placed 16th out of 29 teams and the women's team earned 19th out of 32 teams.

"On the women's side, Olivia looked good the whole way," said Coach Geoff Wayton. "The first race at Bradley was a small meet so this was a true indicator of her fitness. Megan Dieball had her first race in five months, and she had a good effort. Meghan, Maddie, and Leslie all had solid races. They know they can do a little bit better, but they did much better than at Loyola. Overall, I thought we did much better than we did two weeks ago. On the men's side, Tommy Elwood had a great day. He ran on a wet course in bad weather, but he ran three minutes faster than he did two years ago on the same course in perfect weather. Tommy is just one of those guys who's fun to coach and he runs a lot. That's the secret to success. He is the hardest worker on the team, so it was nice to see him succeed in a race of that caliber. Jacob Holmes was unable to finish and so that affected our team score. On our men's side, Griffin and Will ran good races. Our 5, 6, 7 just need to work on closing our gap."

On the women's side Olivia Borowiak paced the Blue Demons with a fifth place finish and a final time of 20:51.90 in the women's 6k Red Race. On the men's side Tommy Elwood led the men for the second meet in a row, finishing in 22nd place with a final time of 24:48.60 in the men's 8k Red Race.

Behind Elwood, Damian Rodriguez took 73rd with a final time of 25:24.10 and Griffin Lehnhardt took 86th with a 25:31.30 time. William Previdi was the fourth finisher for the Blue Demons with a final time of 25:40.80, while Michael Romzone rounded out the men's top five finishers with a 25:58.30 time.

Meghan Dieball took 73rd on the women's side with a final time of 22:25.10 and Meaghan Andrews followed behind with a 22:50.30 time. Madison Volz finished in 134th place with a final time of 23:02.40

while Lesley Viveros earned 141st place with a 23:06.90 time.

UP NEXT: The Blue Demons prepare for the championship portion of their season, starting with the BIG EAST Championship in Kenosha, Wis. on Saturday, Oct. 28.
