
Pressly and Nagy Earn BIG EAST Weekly Honors

Two Blue Demons gain conference honors after 2-0 weekend
CHICAGO - DePaul volleyball seniors Jill Pressly and Julia Nagy each earned BIG EAST honors on Monday afternoon. Pressly was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week and Julia Nagy earned a BIG EAST Honor Roll nod.Â
Pressly recorded 46 kills in a 2-0 weekend, averaging 5.75 kills per set which was a league-high. Her 21 kills against UConn and 25 against Providence were both match-highs. In a 3-1 win over Providence on Saturday, the senior owned a hitting percentage of .375 which is the second-best hitting percentage she has had all season.Â
The Plano, Texas native added 22 digs during the two matches, to record her 37th and 38th career double-doubles. The senior also recorded a career-high five service aces on Friday against UConn, as well as adding four blocks during the weekend. This is Pressly's second Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. Pressly is currently averaging 4.61 kills per set, and heading into the sixth weekend of conference play was leading the league in both kills per set and points per set.  Â
Nagy stepped in the role of libero this weekend and collected 35 digs, good for 4.375 per set. Nagy recorded 24 digs on Friday in a 3-1 win over UConn, setting a new career-high.Â
Additionally, Nagy recorded 10 assists where six of which came against the Huskies on Friday and also set a new career-high. The senior added a service ace, but was a strong presence on the court throughout all eight sets of play. This is Nagy's first BIG EAST weekly honor of her career.Â
