DePaul Men’s Tennis falls to the Blue Jays
OMAHA, Neb. – DePaul men's tennis (5-4) dropped their second contest of the weekend to Creighton 3-4. The Blue Demons came out strong, winning the doubles point. However, Creighton regained control of the singles courts to clinch the win.Â
ÂLeon Huck/ Pablo Torres Almeida earned the first win of the evening defeating their opponents 6-2. Aleksa Krivokapic/ Sven Moser followed suit, claiming a 6-2 to capture the doubles point.Â
ÂUp by one, the Blue Demons set out to compete in their singles matches. Matteo Iaquinto keeped up the momentum and defeated Creighton's Oscar Alvarez 6-0, 6-4.Â
ÂHuck dropped his singles match 3-6, 3-6 and Moser also fell to his opponent 3-6, 4-6 to give the Blue Jays the equalizer. The Blue Demons looked to break the tie.Â
ÂAlmeida lost to Alejandro Gandini 4-6, 6-7(7-2) but Krivokapic responded with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2
win over Casey Ross at the No. singles spot. Tied again at 3-3, Shourya Verma fought hard but ultimately fell to his opponent 1-6, 6-7(7-4).Â
