DePaul Golf Prepares for BIG EAST Match Play

WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – The DePaul men's golf team is prepared to open the 2023 portion of its schedule with BIG EAST Match Play, Feb. 6-7, down in West Palm Beach, Fla. The four-team event will be played at Bear Lakes Country Club. DePaul will play three matches against BIG EAST opponents- Butler, St. John's and UConn on the 7,200 yard, par-72 course.

DePaul's competing golfers include Noah Kolar, Conor Glennon, Cameron Karney, Artemiy Yalovenko, Alex Vekich, Billy Gneiser and Aarjav Patel. The Blue Demons competition begins Monday morning with an 8 a.m. ET tip against St. John's. Patel kicks things off with a staggered start of nine minutes.

Graduate transfer Cameron Karney led DePaul in the fall portion of the schedule, averaging 74.3 over the course of 12 rounds. He was highlighted by a 217 and 15^th place finish at the Zach Johnson Invitational on Sept. 26-27. Noah Kolar did not compete in the fall schedule, but averaged 73.8 a season ago.

Yalovenko and Vekich competed in all 12 rounds in the fall with a pair of top-25 finishes. Gneiser continues his rookie campaign, which began with a 76.9 stroke average in his first three competitions. Patel rounds out DePaul's competitors, making his first appearance of the 2022-23 season.
