Patrick Gray Joins DePaul as Executive Associate AD for Development

CHICAGO – Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy has announced Patrick Gray will join the department as the Executive Associate Athletics Director and Assistant Vice President for Athletics Advancement, leading all fundraising activities for DePaul Athletics. Gray steps into his position with more than 20 years of experience in collegiate athletics. His official duties begin July 31.
"Patrick will be a phenomenal addition to our fundraising and executive leadership team here within DePaul Athletics," said Peevy. "For us to reach our goals as an athletics department, it's crucial we continue to grow our self-generated revenues. Patrick's wealth of experience and leadership will be key as we continue our pursuit to become the premier program in the BIG EAST Conference."
In his previous stop before Lincoln Park, Gray served as the Senior Associate Athletic Director and Executive Director of the Mountaineer Athletic Club. In his role, he directed all fundraising activities within West Virginia's Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. He directed and oversaw funding for capital projects, facility expansions, special events, major and planned gifts in addition to the department's annual fund and endowments.

Gray's widespread experience includes positions at North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan and with the Toronto Blue Jays. While at Michigan, he oversaw major gifts and the annual giving team in addition to Michigan's premium seating plan. Prior to Michigan, Gray spent five years at Georgia where he ended his time as an associate director of development for the Georgia Bulldog Club which included the creation of a young alumni ticket program.
Gray started his career in collegiate fundraising as a development assistant at the University of North Carolina. While in Chapel Hill, he worked on a fundraising team to help raise $70 million for a football stadium expansion and secure more than $10 million in annual fund donations.
Before entering collegiate athletics, Gray worked four years with the Toronto Blue Jays in community, player and alumni relations. He generated and implemented community programming, promotions and sponsorship for the Blue Jays and served as a player liaison with club management and the city of Toronto.
Gray earned his bachelor's degree from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada and a master's degree from North Carolina. Patrick and his family will be relocating to the Chicagoland area and residing in Naperville.
