DePaul Adds UCLA Transfer Mac Etienne

CHICAGO – The DePaul men's basketball team officially announced the addition of UCLA transfer, Micawber "Mac" Etienne, Friday afternoon. Etienne, a 6-10 native from New York, comes to DePaul with three remaining years of eligibility.
"Mac is joining us from a very strong program in UCLA," said head coach Tony Stubblefield. "He's spent the last three years developing under one of the best coaching staffs in the country and been a part of a program with great culture and success. Mac has played at the highest level with the Bruins and only begun to scratch the surface of his abilities. We look forward to his continued growth and him being an integral piece to our team this year."
While at UCLA, Etienne was a member of three NCAA Tournament teams, including the Bruins 2021 Final Four run. Etienne enrolled early at UCLA in 2020-21 where he played in 13 games as a true freshman with one start. He made his collegiate debut against USC with eight points, five rebounds and two blocks.
After missing the 2021-22 season with injury, Etienne played in 32 games last season for the Bruins where he shot 44.7 percent from the field. He scored a career-high 10 points in the NCAA Tournament against UNC Ashville after going 5-for-5 from the field.
Coming out of high school, Etienne was ranked as high as No. 31 in the Class of 2021 by 247Sports.com and was rated as the nation's No. 5 center. As a junior at Suttfield Academy he averaged 15.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks per game on his way to being named the 2019-20 Gatorade Boys' Basketball Player of the Year in Connecticut.

Season ticket renewals for the 2023-24 season have concluded and seat upgrades will take place at the end of August. Current ticket holders that have yet to renew can call the ticket office to secure seats for the upcoming season.
