CHICAGO - DePaul men's basketball assistant coach Bryan Mullins has been named to Silver Waves Media's Top 100 High Major Most Impactful/Influential Assistant Coaches list. The prestigious list, now in its eighth year, has seen more than 50 honorees go on to become head coaches.
Mullins is entering his third season with the Blue Demons and has helped fuel the turnaround of DePaul men's basketball. He helps lead the development of DePaul's offense, where he made an immediate impact. Under his tutelage, DePaul has posted one of the nation's top assist rates in back-to-back seasons and set the program's single-season three-point record in 2024-25. Mullins also played a key role in the Blue Demons' best BIG EAST finish in program history in 2025-26. In his first season at DePaul, the Blue Demons made the largest jump in the KenPom rankings nationally and posted a 59.5 percent assist rate.
A Chicagoland native, Mullins returned to Chicago after five seasons at the helm of his alma mater, Southern Illinois. As the Salukis' head coach, he posted an 86-68 record, including a 19-win season in 2023-24. Mullins coached six All-Missouri Valley Conference selections and the 2020 MVC Freshman and Newcomer of the Year.
In 2020, Mullins finished second in MVC Coach of the Year voting and was named to ESPN's 40 Under 40 list of men's basketball head coaches. He was also a finalist for the Joe B. Hall Award, given to the nation's top first-year head coach.
Before becoming a head coach, Mullins was an instrumental part of Porter Moser's staff at Loyola Chicago. He helped the Ramblers to 119 wins over six seasons, including the 2018 Final Four run and back-to-back MVC championships.
