The Blue Demons compete in Chicago for the first time this season
CHICAGO, Ill. – The DePaul cross country team competes at the 44th annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, Friday, Sept. 29, at the Sydney R. Marovitz Golf Course. The first race is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT. Fans can keep up with the team here.Â
ÂThe meet kickoffs with the women's 6k Gold Race at 10 a.m. Sophomore Sonja Nagle and freshman Grace Havern are expected to compete. Following the women's 6k Gold Race, the Men's 8k Gold Race takes place at 10:45 a.m. Freshman Owen Larkins, Jesse Gamboa, Jason Gould and Mason Krieg are participating.Â
ÂAt 11:25 a.m., the Tom Cooney Women's 6k Championship Race is set to start with DePaul's top nine runners from the women's side competing. Later, DePaul's top nine competitors on the men's side, race in the Tom Cooney Men's 8k Championship Race at noon.Â
ÂLast season, graduate student Olivia Borowiak brought home first place in the women's 6k with a 20:52.95 time. She became the second woman in DePaul history to win the Lakefront Invitational following only Leah Rygh who won on Oct. 2, 2004. The men's team claimed third overall.Â
