Fisher Scores 19 Wednesday Night Against Providence

CHICAGO – Elijah Fisher scored a team-high 19 points Wednesday night against Providence, as the Friars came away with the 100-62 win at Wintrust Arena. Fisher had a near career night, shooting 9-of-11 from the floor in addition to five rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Early three-pointers from Nelson and Jalen Terry put DePaul up early, 8-5, at the first media timeout. DePaul held onto the early lead after Henley scored five points fresh off the bench. Providence quickly took advantage of four turnovers from DePaul with an 8-0 run for a 26-20 lead, they wouldn't give up. A layup from Fisher broke Providence's run but the Friars continued to build their lead, eventually ending the half on a 12-2 run. Fisher led DePaul in the first half with a team-high nine points and 4 rebounds while going 4-for-6.
Providence's shooting stayed clean to open the second half as they started the period with a 9-2 run, continuing to overpower DePaul and further extending their lead. The Friars opened the second half shooting 10-of-15, holding as large as a 37-point lead. Fisher recorded 10 of his 19 points in the second half.

DePaul will hit the road to take on the Butler Bulldogs on Saturday, Jan. 21. Tipoff from Hinkle Fieldhouse is set for 3 p.m. CT on FS1.

- Fisher notched his sixth double-digit scoring game of his career. His 19 points are also a personal best in conference action.
- Fisher's 81.8 field goal percentage is the highest from any DePaul player in a single game this season (min. 5 made field goals).
- Terry tied a career-high two blocks in addition to a season-high five rebounds.
- Dramane Camara recorded his first collegiate field goal.
