Men's Basketball Returns Home, Faces #22 Creighton

CHICAGO – Following back-to-back road games, the DePaul men's basketball team returns home for a Tuesday night tilt against #22/20 Creighton. The game is slated for an 8 p.m. tip on CBS Sports Network with Chris Lewis and Chris Walker on the call. SCOUTING DEPAUL
DePaul (3-11, 0-3 BIG EAST) is still in search of its first conference win of the season, after a narrow, 68-65, loss to Georgetown Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C. The Blue Demons were led by a game-high 19 points from Da'Sean Nelson and a career-best performance from Jaden Henley with 17 points and five assists.
Nelson is leading DePaul in conference action, averaging 16.3 points against BIG EAST opponents, over six points higher than his non-conference performances. Nelson's 54.5 percent shooting in conference play ranks fifth in the BIG EAST and is scoring is fourth among those who have played multiple games.
THE SERIES
Creighton leads the all-time series 28-16, including the last 18-straight wins. The Blue Demons last win against Creighton came on Jan. 7, 2015 in a 70-60 victory in Omaha.
SCOUTING CREIGHTON
Creighton (11-4, 2-2 BIG EAST) is coming off back-to-back conference wins against Georgetown and #23 Providence. The Blue Jays are 3-2 on the road this season, including road wins against Georgetown, Nebraska and Oklahoma State.
Creighton has three players averaging above 15 points per game, including Baylor Schierman who leads the team with 17.9 points. As a team, the Blue Jays are shooting 49.8 percent from the floor which ranks 17th nationally and second in the BIG EAST. Additionally, Creighton leads the conference in three-point percentage (36.8).
UP NEXT
DePaul heads back on the road for its third road game in the last two weeks as they take on Villanova, Friday, Jan. 12. The game is slated for a 7:30 CT tip on FS1.
