7-1 center set to join DePaul ahead of 2025-26 season
CHICAGO – Isaiah Medina has officially signed with the DePaul men's basketball team, where he is set to join the roster ahead of the 2025-26 season. A Saint Petersburg, Fla. Native, Medina is a consensus four-star prospect out of Gibbs High School where he most recently helped lead the team to the school's first state title in over 50 years.
"Isaiah is someone we identified early as a great fit for our system and our DePaul program," said head coach Chris Holtmann. "He is a young, developing big who improves every time we see him. He can really run the floor for a 7-footer and we think his growing offensive skill set is a great fit for our system. We are very excited about the addition of Isaiah."
Medina, a 7-1 center, was ranked No. 75 nationally by On3 Sports as a recruit. He averaged 9.6 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in his junior high school season while most recently playing this summer for Team Speights Elite on the PumaNXT circuit.
In July, Medina participated in the NCAA Academy in Rock Hill, S.C. where he averaged 13.0 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in five games. Medina has also spent time with Team Puerto Rico, where he most recently represented the country at the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup in Buenos, Aries, Argentina. Across six games, he averaged 6.2 points and 5.3 rebounds. His AmeriCup tournament was highlighted by a 13-point, four rebound performance against Team USA.
