First DePaul pair to tally AVCA recognition in same year
CHICAGO – Two DePaul volleyball student-athletes earned AVCA All-Region recognition, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Tuesday morning.
Outside hitter Jill Pressly was named to the AVCA All-Region First Team for the first time in her career, after being selected as AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention in 2022. The Plano, Texas native registers the first DePaul selection to the AVCA All-Region First Team since Kara Jakusz in 2001.
Pressly earned her fourth All-BIG EAST selection in 2024, on the heels of a season where she was the only player in the league to average above 4.00 kills per set. Her 4.34 kills per set also rank her 33rd among all Division I players. The graduate student contributed double-figure kills in all but one match, while also adding 16 double-doubles.
Krasowski earned AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention recognition for the second consecutive year, after a 2024 campaign that saw the libero accumulate numerous accolades. The BIG EAST Libero of the Year honor for Krasowski was the first major regular-season award for the Blue Demons since 2001, which she earned after leading the conference in digs for the entirety of the season. Her 4.66 digs per set place her 50th nationally.
Krasowski also became the all-time digs leader at DePaul with 2,455 digs, and broke her own single-season digs record, totaling 614 on the year.
Prior to Pressly and Krasowski, just three Blue Demons had earned AVCA All-Region recognition, and they are the first DePaul pair to do so in the same year. The AVCA release, including the full list of honorees from all regions, can be found here.
