Krasowski, Pressly, and Oxley earn honor for academic and athletic successes
CHICAGO -Â Three members of the DePaul volleyball team were named to the College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, as announced by CSC Tuesday morning. Rachel Krasowski, Katelynn Oxley, and Jill Pressly earned the honor for their academic and athletic successes this season.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District consideration, the student-athlete must be a sophomore with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. They must have competed in 90 percent of contests played, or start in 66 percent of the team's matches.
Krasowski, a libero from Orland Park, Illinois, competed in all 35 matches during the 2024 campaign, breaking her own single-season digs record, with 614, and becoming the DePaul all-time leader, sitting at 2,455 digs. She was named the BIG EAST Libero of the Year, and tabbed as AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention for the second consecutive year. The graduate student is set to earn her Master of Science in business analytics this June.
Oxley, a middle blocker from Lincoln, Nebraska, played in 28 matches and started in 26 of them, a mainstay in the front row for the Blue Demons. She registered 114 kills, including a career-high 10 kills against Bradley, and 72 total blocks on the year. The junior is currently studying to earn her bachelor's degree in finance.
Pressly, an outside hitter from Plano, Texas, played in 35 matches, starting in all but one. She was unanimously selected to the All-BIG EAST team for the third consecutive season, after being the only student-athlete in the league to average above 4.00 kills per set, at 4.34. Pressly is the first Blue Demon to earn AVCA All-Region First Team recognition since 2001, and the graduate student is also set to earn her Master of Science in business analytics this June.
Krasowski and Pressly have been selected to advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors, which will be voted on by current CSC members.
