Blue Demons Post Record Fall GPA

CHICAGO – For the third time under the DePaul Athletics 'Dream Big' Strategic Plan, all 15 of DePaul's athletic programs have recorded a team GPA above a 3.0. The Blue Demons student-athletes registered a 3.586 fall quarter GPA with over 85 percent of DePaul student-athletes earning Athletics Director Honor Roll accolades.

"This fall has been a historic season for us in many ways," said Vice President and Director of Athletics DeWayne Peevy. "One of our greatest achievements is the success of our student-athletes in the classroom. For the third time under our strategic plan, every team surpassed a 3.0 GPA and as a department, we achieved an impressive overall GPA above 3.5. Our student-athletes continue to set new standards of excellence both academically and athletically, and we couldn't be prouder to have them represent DePaul University."

Women's tennis led all teams with a 3.868 GPA as a total of 10 teams registered above a 3.5. A total of 190 student-athletes earned DePaul Athletics Director Honor Roll accolades for while 30 percent of those athletes also recorded a perfect 4.0 for a total of 66 student-athletes.

DePaul's strategic plan, initially introduced in 2021, includes five guiding principles including Academic Excellence. Academic Excellence is rooted in the goal of promoting holistic student-athlete development and developing the leaders of tomorrow by enabling student-athletes to achieve their education, professional and personal goals.
