Eleanor Nobbs Earns Singles Player of the Week Honors

Junior goes 2-0 at No. 1 singles in a pair of Blue Demon victories
CHICAGO – DePaul junior Eleanor Nobbs was selected BIG EAST Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday afternoon after leading the Blue Demons to a 2-0 weekend against BIG EAST programs, UConn and Butler.
Nobbs, in her second weekend playing at No. 1, picked up a pair of victories at the top spot as the Blue Demons dismantled the Huskies 7-0 on Friday before taking down the Bulldogs on the road on Sunday.
The Bath, England native bested Olivia Wright of UConn by way of a dominant third set tiebreaker 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (10-2) before battling Natalie Boesing in a 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-4 victory. Nobbs moved to 6-6 on the dual season while improving to 5-2 in doubles action alongside partner Eva Goncharov.
DePaul (8-5) has won six of its last seven matches and remains a perfect 5-0 in matches played at XS Tennis Village.
Up Next: The Blue Demons will hit the road to take on Boise State and Wisconsin in Madison, March 2-3. First serve against the Broncos is set for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
