Jorie Allen Earns Academic All-District Honors

Blue Demon graduate student excels on the court and in the classroom
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball graduate forward Jorie Allen was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon, recognizing her performance on the court and in the classroom.
Allen is pursuing a master's degree in writing and publishing within DePaul's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and currently holds a perfect 4.0 GPA after graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2023 with a bachelor's in political science.
On the court, the Bedford, Ind. native put together the best season of her collegiate career in 2023-24, finishing second on the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game while grabbing 6.5 rebounds a contest. Allen was the only Blue Demon to start every game of the season and collected four double-doubles.
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. To qualify, all nominees must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.
