Bratt brings 14 years of collegiate and club experience to Lincoln Park
CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer head coach Mark Plotkin announced the addition of Scott Bratt as the program's associate head coach on Thursday.
"We are thrilled to welcome Scott as our Associate Head Coach. He is a fantastic coach, recruiter, and more importantly, a phenomenal person" said Plotkin. "He has a proven track record of success at his previous schools and there is no doubt he will have an immediate impact on our program. Please join me in welcoming Scott and his wife Jess to the DePaul Athletics family."
Bratt lands in Lincoln Park after spending a season on the Brown men's soccer coaching staff as an Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. In his time in Providence, R.I. Bratt helped the Bears to an unbeaten Ivy League regular season, as well as reaching the inaugural Ivy League tournament championship game. Prior to his time at Brown, Bratt was on staff at Colgate University, bringing 14 years of coaching experience from both collegiate soccer and English league professional clubs.
"It's an exciting time to join DePaul Athletics and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work with Mark and the team" Bratt said. "In the few days I have spent on campus, it already feels like home. I look forward to playing my part in bringing continued success to DePaul Men's Soccer!"
During his first season at Colgate, Bratt helped the team to a 7-4-7 record, including wins over ranked teams and an unbeaten road record, which was a turnaround from an 0-18 mark the season prior. The Raiders also improved its RPI standing, jumping 125 spots from 193 to 68 and while climbing in the Patriot League standings from 10th to 3rd with Bratt on staff.
Prior to Colgate, Bratt worked as a Youth Development Coach in England for Southampton FC. He also worked as the Community Champion delivering Premier League funded programs to secondary school children in Southampton.
Bratt spent the 2018 and 2019 seasons on the Cornell coaching staff. In two years, Bratt helped the Big Red to a 21-11-2 record and 7-5-2 in the Ivy League. The team led the Ivy League with 30 goals in 2018 and he coached nine All-Ivy selections, including one Rookie of the Year and two All-Northeast Region honorees.
In 2017, Bratt served as an assistant coach at SUNY Cortland where he helped guide the team to a 15-2 record and the second round of the NCAA Tournament. While at Cortland he tutored five United Soccer Coaches All-East Region players.
Before landing in upstate New York, Bratt served as the Head of Football and Sport Development at Crawley Town FC in West Sussex, England.
