
The ‘Band of Brothers’ Earn Multiple ITA Academic Awards

Men’s tennis recognized for team award, ten individual honors
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis was honored with the ITA All-Academic Team Award, the International Tennis Association announced on Monday afternoon. In addition, all ten men's tennis student-athletes earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognitions for their impressive academic records.
To qualify for ITA All-Academic Team honors, a team must hold at least a 3.2 grade-point average. The Blue Demons held an outstanding 3.812 team GPA, led by 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team members Leon Huck, Pablo Torres Almeida, Sven Moser, and Shourya Verma.
Elias Anwar, Thomas Giles, Jona Gitschel, Huck, Matteo Iaquinto, Laurentiu Mandocescu, Moser, Vito Tonejc, Torres Almeida, and Verma each posted a minimum 3.5 grade-point average in earning Scholar-Athlete status.
For the sixteenth time in seventeen seasons, head coach Matt Brothers' team won the ITA All-Academic Team Award, highlighting his emphasis on academic performance in crafting a high-level Division I program.
The Blue Demons' success during the 2023-24 season did not stop in the classroom. DePaul also secured its third BIG EAST Championship in four seasons and made its third NCAA Tournament appearance.
Huck, Iaquinto, and Torres Almeida earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors for their individual performances, while head coach Matt Brothers, and assistant coaches Leo Hua and Brian Livingston, were honored as the BIG EAST Co-Coaching Staff of the Year.
