CHICAGO – Five members of DePaul women's soccer earned spots on the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday afternoon. Graduate students Jen Devona and Grace Menser, juniors Danielle Fjeldsted and Mia Veldman, and sophomore Katelyn Jamie were recognized for their academic excellence and impact on the field.
Jen Devona – A veteran presence in the midfield, Devona started all 18 matches this fall and logged 1,592 minutes, the most among DePaul field players. She was a steadying force for the Blue Demons throughout her career and a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree. Devona earned her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and continues her graduate coursework at DePaul.
Danielle Fjeldsted – A creative midfielder for the Blue Demons, Fjeldsted started all 18 matches and finished tied for the team lead with three goals. She played 1,299 minutes while providing consistency and composure in DePaul's possession play. Fjeldsted is majoring in Finance with a minor in Accounting.
Grace Menser – One of DePaul's most experienced defenders, Menser started every match of the 2024 campaign and recorded two assists while helping the Blue Demons post five shutouts. Her leadership and positioning were key to the back line's stability across more than 1,100 minutes of play. Menser graduated with a degree in Marketing and is continuing her studies in DePaul's Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
Mia Veldman – In her second season with the Blue Demons, Veldman made 15 starts and played over 1,100 minutes as a versatile midfielder. She strengthened DePaul's possession game and provided balance between defense and attack. Veldman is pursuing a degree in Psychology and earned her first CSC Academic All-District honor this fall.
Katelyn Jamie – Jamie made an immediate impact in the attack, scoring three goals across 16 appearances while starting 15 times. Her efficiency in front of goal was highlighted by a .400 shots-on-goal percentage, ranking among the team's best. Jamie is majoring in Psychology and has once been named to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
To be eligible for selection to the 2025 Academic All-District Team, chosen by College Sports Communicators, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and serve as either a starter or a significant reserve.
Devona and Menser earned their third career CSC Academic All-District selections, Fjeldsted received her second, while Veldman and Jamie were recognized for the first time.
