Gandini and Giles represent BIG EAST in Calif. this weekend
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – DePaul men's tennis' Alejandro Gandini and Thomas Giles are headed west to compete in the 2025 ITA Conference Masters Championships, held Nov. 6-9 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif.
The pair was selected by BIG EAST coaches to represent the conference, with Gandini earning the singles slot and joining Giles as the league's doubles team. The recognition comes following an impressive 2024 campaign in which Gandini was voted BIG EAST Player of the Year and Giles helped anchor the Blue Demons' doubles lineup throughout the spring.
Now in its second year, the ITA Conference Masters brings together the top singles player and doubles team from each NCAA Division I AQ-eligible conference. The event serves as a qualifying pathway for the NCAA Division I Individual Championships, with four singles semifinalists and the top three doubles teams (champion, finalist, third-place finishers) advancing to nationals.
Gandini will face Bucknell's Amar Tahirovic on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m. CT. In doubles play, Gandini and Giles earned a Round of 32 bye and will compete at a time to be determined.
Tournament draws, live results, and streaming information will be available here.
