
Damian Rodriguez Earns BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week

CHICAGO – DePaul cross country graduate runner Damian Rodriguez was named BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week, Tuesday morning. This recognition marks the first weekly honor of Rodriguez's five-year career as a Blue Demon cross country runner.
Rodriguez secured first place in the 4-mile race at the Huskie Opener on Friday, Sept. 6, competing against over 35 runners from eight schools. He finished with a time of 19:48.94, roughly nine seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
The Batavia, Ill. native holds career bests of 32:24.4 in the 10k and 24:27.4 in the 8k, both recorded in 2023.
