Cross Country sets sights on Conference titles
ASHLAND, Neb. – DePaul cross country prepares for their trip to Ashland, Neb. to compete in the BIG EAST Championships on Friday, Oct. 31 at Mahoney State Park. The men's 8k championship is set to kick off the action at 11:00 a.m. CT, with the women's 6k following at 11:50 a.m. CT, streamed live on ESPN+.
The Blue Demons come off of a promising showing at the Bradley Pink Invitational on Oct. 17, where five runners on the women's side recorded personal bests. On the men's side, Mohamed Abdullahi ran the 8k in under 24 minutes for the first time in his young career, securing the second best mark in DePaul history for the event.
Top finishers Kyle Clark and Tessa Roe from the Sept. 5 NIU Invite look to make their return after missing DePaul's previous two events, giving the Blue Demons an opportunity to combine recent improvement with key reinforcements for Friday's meet.
All eleven BIG EAST teams will be represented in the women's 6k, including USTFCCCA No. 10 ranked Georgetown and No. 14 ranked Villanova. The men's side will feature nine BIG EAST teams, as St. John's and UConn do not have men's cross country teams. Ranked teams featured in the men's 8k include, No. 10 ranked Butler, and No. 30 ranked Georgetown.
Blue Demon runners look to secure available racing slots for the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 14.
