Four Blue Demons Earn CSC All-District Honors

Baumgartner, Gordon, Thomas and Watts recognized for academic and athletic accomplishments
CHICAGO – Four members of the DePaul men's soccer team were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honorees on Tuesday as Christian Baumgartner, Ethan Gordon, Ryan Thomas and Callum Watts were each recognized for their athletic and academic accomplishments.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District consideration, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institutions contests or start in at least 66 percent of the matches.
Baumgartner, a two-time All-District honoree, provided was a steadying forced for the Blue Demons in his third season in Lincoln Park. The redshirt-junior appeared in all 17 games for DePaul and made 12 starts. He ranked second on the team in points with a pair of goals and a pair of assists while also ranking second on the team in shots (24) and shots on goal (11). Baumgartner is set to graduate in the spring with a bachelor's of science degree in actuarial science.
Gordon started in all 15 matches he played in this season for the Blue Demons. He anchored DePaul's back line, logging over 1,300 minutes – the most on the team. The Tulsa, Okla. native added two assists in early season play, the first helpers of his career, while also putting four shots on goal. Gordon is set to graduate in June with a bachelor's of science degree in Finance from DePaul's Driehaus College of Business.
Thomas logged 696 minutes in his second and final season with the Blue Demons. The Peterborough, England native appeared in all 17 matches for DePaul and tallied a pair of assists in his senior season. Thomas added six shots including one on goal. He will graduate in June with a bachelor's degree in Sports Communication.
Watts was a key cog in DePaul's midfield in his final campaign in Lincoln Park. He appeared in all 17 matches and made 14 starts, logging over 900 minutes. The Yeovil, England native notched an assist and totaled 13 shots on the campaign. He graduated last June with a bachelor's degree in sports communication and is currently enrolled in graduate studies in DePaul's College of Communication.
