Blue Demons take on Hoosiers Sunday morning
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – DePaul men's tennis returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 16, facing Indiana at the IU Tennis Center in Bloomington, Ind. First serve against the Hoosiers (8-0) is set for 11 a.m. CT, with fans able to follow via live stats and live streaming.
The Blue Demons (4-4, 1-0 BIG EAST) enter Sunday on a hot streak, winning four of their last five matches, including victories over Grand Canyon and Northern Arizona during their trip to the Phoenix-Tempe area last weekend.
In DePaul's 4-3 win over GCU, with the match on the line, Matteo Iaquinto delivered at No. 1 in a three-set thriller, securing a 7-6(5), 6-7(6), 7-5 victory to clinch the win.
Freshman Marko Milosavljevic leads the team with a 4-2 singles record, remaining undefeated at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots this season. Iaquinto and Thomas Giles top the Blue Demons' doubles rankings with three victories apiece.
Tobias Leitner and Jona Gitschel played a key role in DePaul's first BIG EAST victory of the season, defeating Marquette's top pairing in a commanding 6-1 performance at the No. 1 doubles position. Their win secured the doubles point, setting the tone for the Blue Demons' 5-2 victory over the Golden Eagles.
