Blue Demons Notch 4-0 Sweep on Senior Night

CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis downed Villanova (3-12) for the seventh-straight time on Friday night, putting a stamp on senior night with a commanding 4-0 win at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness. The Blue Demons opened strong, taking four first sets by scores of 6-1 or better and earning three 6-0 sets across the board in their most dominant outing of the 2025 dual season.

DePaul (11-8, 3-1 BIG EAST) picked up its second consecutive sweep against a conference opponent, following a 7-0 victory over Georgetown on Sunday, March 16.

Tobias Leitner and Quang Vinh Nguyen set the tone at No. 2 doubles with a swift 6-1 win. Moments later, Matteo Iaquinto and Marko Milosavljevic clinched the doubles point at No. 1 with a 6-2 victory.

Freshman Andy Hadziabdic kept the energy rolling in singles with a standout performance at No. 4, cruising to a 6-1, 6-0 win. At No. 2, Pablo Torres Almeida followed with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph, and Marko Milosavljevic sealed the match at No. 3 with another straight-set victory, 6-0, 6-3. The match lasted just one hour and 29 minutes—DePaul's quickest of the season—as the Blue Demons delivered in front of a supportive home crowd. The result capped off a successful night honoring Blue Demon veterans Jona Gitschel, Sven Moser, and Matteo Iaquinto, and continued DePaul's strong run in BIG EAST play.
