Delalic comes to DePaul after freshman season at Pitt
CHICAGO – The Blue Demons added their sixth addition out of the transfer portal Wednesday in the addition of Amsal Delalić. Delalić joins DePaul after a freshman season at Pitt where he saw action in 21 games, including two starts.
"We're really excited about Amsal being a Blue Demon and can't wait to start working with him," said head coach Chris Holtmann. "He has the ability to really shoot the ball and brings strong ball skills and good size. His international experience, combined with a year in the ACC, will really help him transition well. Amsal plays with a competitiveness and confidence that will serve him well as he continues to grow."
A 6-8 guard, Delalić averaged 3.8 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game while averaging 13 minutes per game for the Panthers. He had a career-best game against Miami where he scored 14 points with a pair of three-pointers. Delalić shot 46.2 percent across the season, including 35.3 percent from three-point range.
Prior to arriving in America, Delalić played professionally for four years in Bosnia & Herzegovina with Borac Nektar and Igokea in the Bosnia Division I league. He was a top-30 European prospect after averaging 13.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in Bosnia Division I. Additionally, Delalić played with the Bosnia & Herzegovina national team in the 2020 U16 European Championship and the 2023 European World Qualifier.
