CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball head coach Jill M. Pizzotti officially announced the signing of junior transfer Aizhanique Mayo on Friday morning. Mayo, the first transfer addition of the offseason for the Blue Demons, lands in Chicago from Xavier University and has two seasons of eligibility remaining. Â
Â
"We are thrilled to welcome Aizhanique to the DePaul family! She brings valuable BIG EAST experience and possesses the ability to shoot the three, which fits perfectly with our DePaul Ball style of play," Pizzotti said. "I know Aizhanique is excited about the offensive freedom within our system, and she will thrive in our program."
Â
In two seasons at Xavier, Mayo has appeared in 51 games and made eight starts while averaging 8.4 points per game. For her career, the 5-9 guard is shooting the ball from distance at a 36-percent clip. With 10.1 points per game as a freshman, Mayo was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team. She erupted for a career-high 27 points on 6-of-10 shooting from deep in the first round of the 2025 BIG EAST Tournament. Â The Brideport, Conn. native redshirted her first season of collegiate basketball with stops at Marquette and Iona.
Â
"I'm truly excited to join DePaul and help get the program back to the NCAA Tournament," Mayo said. "I chose DePaul because of its strong basketball program, supportive community and the opportunity to grow both academically and personally. I'm looking forward to continuing my basketball journey competing at the highest level while also pursuing my academic goals."
Â
In her prep career, Mayo was the 2021 MaxPreps Connecticut Player of the Year helping Notre Dame Catholic High School to a 58-3 record over three seasons including a pair of conference championships. A First Team All-State honoree, Mayo averaged 20.4 points, 7.0 assists and 6.8 rebounds in the 2019-20 season.
Â
Mayo plans to pursue a degree in Sports Communication. Â
