CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball head coach Jill M. Pizzotti added to her inaugural coaching staff on Tuesday with the hiring of Kathleen Doyle as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. The LaGrange Park, Ill. native returns to Chicago after spending a season at Virginia Tech as the Director of Recruiting and Player Personnel.
Â
"We're thrilled to bring Kathleen back home," said Pizzotti. "She's a proud product of our city, and her experience at the highest level of our game, most recently at Virginia Tech, speaks for itself. Kathleen understands what it takes to win, and she'll be instrumental in leading our local recruiting efforts and elevating our player development. Additionally, we're excited for her to continue strengthening the long-standing ties between DePaul and USA Basketball."
Â
With the Hokies, Doyle assisted with all on and off campus recruiting operations, basketball skill development as well as scouting and analytics. Doyle aided Virginia Tech to a 19-13 record in head coach Megan Duffy's first season which included a WBIT Second Round appearance.

"Getting to work under Coach Pizzotti at DePaul, an outstanding Catholic university in the city I call home with my family and friends just miles away, is a dream come true. I am excited to build lasting relationships with our players and help provide them with an unforgettable college experience where they become champions on and off the court."
Â
In addition to her collegiate coaching responsibilities, Doyle was elected to serve a four-year term on the United States Junior National Team Committee through 2028.
