Blue Demons Stumble Against Bulldogs

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – DePaul men's tennis dropped a 5-2 decision to Butler on Saturday afternoon inside the Butler Bubble, falling to 12-10 on the season and 3-2 against BIG EAST opponents.
The Bulldogs claimed the doubles point behind a pair of 6-3 victories at No. 1 and No. 2 to take an early advantage.
In singles action, the Blue Demons won the first set on four of six courts before Butler responded.
Matteo Iaquinto snapped a two-match skid with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Riccardo Baldi at No. 2. The senior is 1-1 on court two this season.
Freshman Andy Hadziabdic was a bright spot for the Blue Demons, winning his eighth match in his last 10 outings with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph at No. 3.
Butler ( 11-8, 3-1) secured wins at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to pick up the victory.
The Blue Demons will return to action on Sunday, April 6 with a match against Xavier set for 4 p.m. CT. Live results can be followed here.
