Blue Demons Add Jonas Johnson to 2025-26 Roster

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball has officially added the addition of Jonas Johnson to next year's roster as a preferred walk-on. Johnson, a 6-6 forward from Chicago, joins the Blue Demons after a standout high school career at DePaul Prep. Johnson also played for the Illinois Wolves AAU program.
"We are excited about Jonas joining our program as a preferred walk-on," said head coach Chris Holtmann. "He is a young man with good upside as a player and he comes from an outstanding program in DePaul Prep where he was trained and coached very well. Jonas will be a great fit with our other incoming players and we can't wait to get to work with him and his teammates this summer."
While at DePaul Prep, Johnson helped lead his team to three-straight IHSA State Championship titles. He was coached by former Blue Demon great, Tom Kleinschmidt, who has led the DePaul Prep program since 2012. Kleinschmidt was a 1995 Associated Press All-American in addition to the 1995 Great Midwest Conference Player of the Year, making him the first conference player of the year in program history.
