Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award for 18th-Straight Year

CHICAGO – DePaul volleyball was awarded with the AVCA Team Academic Award sponsored by INTENT for the teams' outstanding performance in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year. The recognition is earned by achieving a year-long GPA of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
"This achievement is a powerful testament to the dedication of our student-athletes and a shining reflection of the unwavering culture and mission at DePaul," said head coach Marie Zidek.
"We believe true excellence transcends the volleyball court and we are deeply committed to supporting our student-athletes as whole individuals. These accomplishments speak volumes about the strength of our academic programs and the dedication of our faculty and athletic academic advising team. This is a celebration of our entire DePaul family that lifts these student-athletes every step of the way."
DePaul has earned the award for 18 straight years, dating back to the 2007-2008 season. Only seven other institutions in NCAA Division I women's volleyball have received the award for 18 consecutive years or longer, with the Blue Demons owning the best streak in the BIG EAST conference.
For the third-straight year, the program was also named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, which recognizes the top 20% of GPAs in each division.
