Eight Blue Demons earn 2026 Scholar-Athlete recognition
CHICAGO – DePaul men's tennis was named an ITA All-Academic Team for 2026, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced earlier this month. In addition, eight Blue Demons earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
To qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must post a team grade-point average of 3.2 or higher. DePaul surpassed that benchmark with a standout 3.733 GPA for the 2025-26 academic year, highlighting the program's strong commitment to continued academic excellence.
Bernardo Vialle, Sven Moser, Augusto Pardo Cano, Elias Anwar, Sebastian Medica, Thomas Giles, Tobias Leitner, and Pablo Torres Almeida each posted at least a 3.5 GPA to earn individual Scholar-Athlete distinction.
Head coach Matt Brothers has guided DePaul to ITA All-Academic Team status in 16-straight seasons, a testament to the program's sustained excellence on and off the court.
In 2026, a total of 1,008 Division I men's tennis student-athletes received Scholar-Athlete honors, while 162 programs were recognized as ITA All-Academic Teams.
