CHICAGO – DePaul volleyball added its second member for the incoming 2026 freshman class with the addition of Sage Meidroth, announced Monday afternoon. Meidroth is a libero and defensive specialist from southern California where she played elite level high school and club volleyball.
"Sage brings a strong game that adds depth in our libero position," said head coach Marie Zidek. "Her reception skills coupled with her defensive tenacity will be an asset to our team as we are building and for the goals we are chasing in 2026."
A native of Manhattan Beach, Calif., Meidroth played four seasons at Mira Costa High School where she helped the program to four-straight league championships. Meidroth and her team ranked top-40 nationally and 11th in the talented state of California. A dedicated student-athlete, Meidroth earned the school's 2025 Scholar-Athlete Award and the 2023 Mustang Award, given to the athlete who best represents the program through strong work ethic and attitude.
"DePaul offers the perfect cross section of business majors, sports and creativity," said Meidroth. "Along with a personalized learning approach in the classroom, I'm excited to be a part of a top volleyball program with amazing coaches, to compete in the BIG EAST and have the opportunity to live in Chicago!"
Meidroth played at the club level for coach Jon Daze at Actyve Volleyball Club, a top-15 team in the region.
