CJ Gunn Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Gunn first DePaul BIG EAST Player of the Week since 2022
NEW YORK – DePaul men's basketball senior CJ Gunn was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday morning. Gunn helped lead DePaul to an 80-75 win over Marquette Friday evening in the team's lone game of the week.
Gunn turned in a career-high 31-point performance against the Golden Eagles, highlighted by a personal-best seven made three-pointers in addition to seven rebounds and three assists. His seven triples are tied for the fourth-most in program history and mark the most by a Blue Demon since Max Strus tied the program record with eight on March 6, 2019.
On the season, Gunn is averaging 14.5 points per game, ranking 11th in the BIG EAST, while his 45.3 field goal percentage ranks fourth among all league players. Gunn becomes the first DePaul player to earn BIG EAST Player of the Week honors since Javan Johnson on Dec. 5, 2022.
DePaul and Gunn next travel to Butler on Tuesday, Jan. 20, for a midweek matchup. Tipoff is sset for 6:30 p.m. CT on truTV.
