Men's Basketball Unveils 2026-27 Non-Conference Schedule

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball has announced its full 2026-27 non-conference schedule, which features four games against 2026 NCAA Tournament teams and a total of six games against foes from top basketball conferences. The slate also features three first-time opponents in Maryland Eastern Shore, North Alabama and West Georgia.
"This is no doubt the most challenging non-conference schedule we've put together in our three seasons at DePaul and I'm not sure it's close to be honest," said head coach Chris Holtmann. "Playing four teams that competed in last year's NCAA Tournament, along with the overall quality of all our opponents, will challenge our team from day one. It's something we are excited about. The goal is to best prepare ourselves as we compete in what we believe will be one of the best conferences in college basketball this season in the BIG EAST Conference."
The Blue Demons will prepare for the season with a pair of exhibition games at Loyola (Oct. 18) and home against Notre Dame (Oct. 23), before officially opening the season Nov. 2 against West Georgia. DePaul will then host USF Nov. 5, followed by a Nov. 9 contest against Alabama A&M. The Blue Demons head north to Evanston for a Nov. 13 matchup with Northwestern, before returning to Wintrust Arena Nov. 17 against Maryland Eastern Shore.
DePaul travels to the Fort Myers Tip-Off, hosted in Fort Myers, Fla., Nov. 24-26, for a pair of contests against Power Five opponents in Purdue and Pitt. For full information on the Fort Myers Tip-Off visit here.
To kick off December, DePaul hosts North Alabama on Dec. 1, followed by a Dec. 5 meeting with SMU. The Blue Demons host Maine on Dec. 8, before heading to the Show Me State against Saint Louis on Dec. 12. The non-conference slate rounds out with a Dec. 22 meeting against Canisius at Wintrust Arena.
DePaul has a talented roster heading into head coach Chris Holtmann's third season, featuring nine newcomers and seven returners. The Blue Demons are coming off a 2025-26 season that saw DePaul earn its second-most BIG EAST wins in program history and its highest finish in the conference standings since joining the league in 2005. The Blue Demons also recorded the best KenPom defensive efficiency rating in program history, finishing with a top-35 national ranking.
