Blue Demons Host Georgetown in Midweek Tilt

DePaul looks to close out homestand strong
CHICAGO – Fresh off its first BIG EAST win of the season, DePaul men's basketball looks to continue its two-game homestand strong as the Blue Demons welcome Georgetown into the Windy City. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. CT tip on Tuesday, Jan. 6 on truTV. Spero Dedes and Chris Spatola will handle play-by-play and analyst duties, with Andy Katz on the sideline. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the Blue Demons radio call on SiriusXM/DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (9-6, 1-3 BIG EAST) opened the new year with a strong 86-77 victory over Xavier at Wintrust Arena. The Blue Demons shot 50 percent from the floor as a team, behind six different scorers with 10 or more points. CJ Gunn notched 22 points in addition to six rebounds, on his way to his second BIG EAST Honor Roll nod of the season. DePaul remains perfect on the season (6-0) when shooting 50 percent or higher from the floor.
Despite facing the league's top three teams to open conference play, DePaul ranks fifth with the fewest points allowed in the BIG EAST at 74.75. Additionally, CJ Gunn ranks fifth among all players in the league with a 50.0 field goal percentage.
THE SERIES
Georgetown leads the all-time series 35-17, however, DePaul has won seven of the last 10 meetings. The Blue Demons won all three matchups between the programs last season, including a 71-67 win in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament. In last year's Tournament matchup, NJ Benson shot 7-of-8 from the floor for 18 points with four rebounds off the bench.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Tuesday marks Georgetown's (9-5, 1-2 BIG EAST) first contest in 2026, coming off a New Year's Eve defeat to St. John's, 95-83. The Hoyas are led by Arizona transfer KJ Lewis with 15.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, in addition to Preseason All-BIG EAST honorable mention, Malik Mack's 14.8 points and 4.7 assists per game. Caleb Williams is the team's leading rebounder with 5.8 boards per game. As a team, Georgetown is 15th nationally with a 1.79 assist to turnover ratio. The Hoyas also rank top 50 in free throw attempts per game and fastbreak points.
