DePaul Heads to Terre Haute for Under Armour Pre-Nationals

CHICAGO – DePaul cross country returns to action Friday, Oct. 16, as the Blue Demons travel to Terre Haute, Ind., for the 2026 Under Armour Pre-National Invitational at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course. The men's 8K Blue Race is set for 9:40 a.m. CT, followed by the women's 6K White Race at 10:20 a.m. CT and the men's 8K White Race at 11 a.m. CT.

The Blue Demons enter Friday's competition following a strong showing at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational on Sept. 25, where the men's squad claimed the open division team title and the women finished sixth.

Freshman Alex Krieg continued his impressive debut campaign, moving into third on DePaul's all-time 8K list, while Mason Krieg also climbed to fifth. Mohamed Abdullahi made his season debut at the Lakefront Invitational and looks to build on that performance in Terre Haute.

On the women's side, senior Kalina Urbaniak continued her strong start to the season, recording another top-three all-time program performance. Ava Helmbrecht also impressed in her first collegiate 6K, moving into ninth on DePaul's all-time list.

Friday's meet marks DePaul's first competition at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, a special return for head cross country coach Geoff Wayton, who will lead the Blue Demons at his alma mater, Indiana State University.
