Blue Demons to be recognized at BIG EAST Basketball Championships in March
CHICAGO – As part of the BIG EAST Conference's Legends program, DePaul will recognize David Booth and Allie Quigley at this year's men's and women's basketball conference championships.
Booth played for the Blue Demons from 1988–92 and is DePaul's second all-time leading scorer, behind Mark Aguirre. A 1992 honorable mention All-American, Booth became the first DePaul player to earn First Team All-Conference honors in 1992. He graduated as the first player in program history to record 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 blocks. Following his collegiate career, Booth played professionally in Europe, Asia and South America for 13 years. After his playing career, he transitioned to the NBA and has held a variety of positions with teams and the league since 2005. He currently serves as associate vice president of basketball operations for the association.
One of just four players to reach 2,000 points, Quigley remains the program's third all-time leading scorer with 2,078 career points. Her career totals rank in the top 10 in 11 different categories. During her tenure, DePaul advanced to four consecutive NCAA Tournaments, compiled a 92–37 record and reached the 2006 NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Quigley's accolades include 2005 Conference USA Freshman of the Year, four-time All-Conference selection, two-time NACDA Division I-AAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, 2008 Academic All-American and 2008 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She was drafted by the WNBA's Seattle Storm in 2008 and went on to become a three-time All-Star, two-time Sixth Woman of the Year, four-time Three-Point Contest champion and helped lead the Chicago Sky to the 2021 WNBA Championship.
The annual Legends program began in 2024, with each of the league's 11 schools selecting a prominent former coach or player from both its men's and women's programs to be honored. DePaul's previous honorees include Wilson Chandler, Anna Martin, Quentin Richardson and Khara Smith.
